CERTPRONAV was set up in 2005 by a group of naval specialists from Romanian Naval Register (whose activity ceased in 2002), who desired to continue their professional activity within this company and apply their experience and knowledge on security and safety ships and mobile offshore drilling units, as well as environment pollution prevention for the community benefit.
       Since setting up, the company's specialists have carried out technical work from domains:
       1. ships and small crafts technical tests (inclining tests, displacement tests, buoyancy tests, thickness measurements, physico-chemical analyses, etc.);
       2. technical analyses of ships, mobile offshore drilling units and small crafts for the evaluation of:
             - longitudinal strength;
             - local strength;
             - intact and damage stability;
             - buoyancy;
             - tonnage;
             - freeboard.
       3. technical programmes development (loading programme of container barges and loading programme of mobile offshore drilling units);
       4. documentation development for quality management systems;
       5. transposing of the international technical norms into the national legislation (53 standards from naval domain);
       6. innovation-development-research (research work for technical grounding of the applicative operations from article 1 to 4).
       Company has also two representatives in the naval technical committee for standardization, CT 199, and one of the two is the committee's chairman.
